Letter from Keep the Children Safe to ConnFESS Members

HB 5418 Issued a Joint Favorable by Environmental Committee

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for all of your help! Because of your efforts HB 5418 was issued a Joint Favorable by the Environmental Committee on April 7th.

However once again, we are writing to ask for your help in our quest to Keep The Children Safe.

We expect HB5418 to be brought up before the Public Health Committee this Monday or Tuesday. We need the Committee to vote in favor of the bill in order so that it can have a chance of becoming law. If the Committee does not vote on the bill, or if they vote against the bill, the bill will die in committee and will have no chance in becoming law.

Please, Please take the time this weekend to send emails in support of the bill to the members of the Public Health Committee. We are placing an easy email link to the entire committee at the bottom of this letter. It is important that the Public Health Committee hears from us and knows that we are watching to make sure that they Keep The Children Safe.

Your letter should state:

  1. Exposure to EMF is potentially dangerous for children.
  2. There needs to be a Safety Buffer to protect Children while they study and play from exposure to the EMF emitted from High Voltage Power Lines.
  3. The Bill needs to be effective as of the date of passage and apply to the Phase II application, currently before the Siting Council.
  4. It is possible to bury power lines to avoid children being exposed to EMF, as evidenced by the settlement agreement reached between the Power Companies and certain towns in Phase I.

PLEASE, PLEASE take the time to send letters to the Public Health Committee . The Children of the State of Connecticut are counting on you to help Keep Them Safe.

Sincerely Yours,

Jody Ellant
Susan Birke Fiedler

Keep The Children Safe

P.S. Please forward this letter to all of your friends and relatives who live or work in the State of Connecticut. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Joellen Lawson, President
